Family Jewels is the unofficial name referring to illegal and inappropriate programs carried out by the Central Intelligence Agency. Most of these documents were not released until 2007, which means for 30 years they were kept from the public even though the FOIA request was made 15 years prior. A summary of the report was released with this title:

"The Central Intelligence Agency violated its charter for 25 years until revelations of illegal wiretapping, domestic surveillance, assassination plots, and human experimentation led to official investigations and reforms in the 1970's."

The intention was to clear the reputation of the CIA by releasing "all" of their dirty laundry to show the public that they could be trusted. At this point, the CIA claims to have halted any and all related research and implementation of these programs. Whether you believe that is entirely up to you. We tend to believe they only got better at carrying them out quietly, but this cant be proven unless incriminating evidence is released.

This was a literal mind control and behavioral modification project that was very broad in scope carried out by the CIA. It became a supreme court case (CIA v. Sims 471 U.S. 159) in 1985, and according to that case MK-ULTRA was concerned with "the research and development of chemical, biological, and radiological materials capable of employment in clandestine operations to control human behavior." The program consisted of some 149 subprojects which the Agency contracted out to various universities, research foundations, and similar institutions. At least 80 institutions and 185 private researchers participated. Because the Agency funded MK-ULTRA indirectly, many of the participating individuals were unaware that they were dealing with the Agency. As the Watergate scandal was taking place, the active CIA director Richard Helms ordered the documents destroyed which made a full investigation into the matter impossible. Luckily over 20,00 documents survived.

Cathy O'Brian is an alleged survivor of not only the MK-ULTRA program, but also human trafficking.

Mark Phillips is an alleged member of the CIA who helped carry out the program before escaping and freeing Kathy.

Below is their testimony. The material is considered mature.

Operation Northwoods

Yes, we have an actual document that proves our government has attempted to sacrifice the lives of innocent Americans in order to traumatize the populace into agreeing to invading an innocent country. After Castro took power in Cuba, our government requested CIA operatives to commit acts of terrorism against American civilian and military targets, and blame it on the Cuban government. They believed an event like that would be sufficient enough to drive public backing for war. Luckily for us president Kennedy rejected the plan and the attacks never occurred.

Now that we have been exposed to this truth we can no longer claim ignorance. We have to acknowledge that it probably wasn't the first or last time this sort of thing happened. Especially considering what we know about the Gulf of Tonkin, which proves the US fabricated an attack in order to invade Vietnam. This led to the deaths of 282,000 American lives, and over 1 million Vietnamese. It also led to a draft that forcibly removed the sovereignty of American men over 18 years old and flew them across the Pacific to get shot at by rebels and farmers.

Does our government have a responsibility to acknowledge these past mistakes and make corrections for the future? We can be certain that unless the people make enough noise about issues like this, our government will likely never acknowledge their complacency until time has ticked far enough that blame can no longer land and its relevance is minimal.
